Job Title – Aircraft Interior Specialist Jobs in Doha, Qatar

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the management of all design activities through every step of the design process from conceptualisation to implementation of the aircraft interiors.
Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information effectively to the line manager and provide regular progress updates.

Identify opportunities for new products and analyse how it ties in with market needs and customer preferences.
Set design requirements based on briefs from the leadership and internal stakeholders.
Manage the design aspects of high-quality products and design for all different aircraft type floor plans, seating arrangements, colour combinations, space layouts, fit-outs and placement of brand graphics as well as digital branding.

Sketch drafts on paper or digitally using CAD, use 3D modelling software to design products and components, produce prototypes and initial functionality test.
Gather feedback from product users and analyse results while creating designs for specific areas ensuring an optimum ergonomic use of space.
Research and identify Colour, Material and Finish (CMF) such as fabric, leather, plastic, metal or items that may add aesthetic value within the aircraft.

Collaborate with the internal Onboard service design, Catering, Branding, Corporate and Marketing department to acquire information on the brand and corporate identity that needs to be translated into the Aircraft interior design.
Collaborate with Technical Project and Supplier quality team to improve the reliability performance to reduce or eliminate in-service issues.
Apply artistic and innovative design specific aspects for all Qatar Airways’ Aircrafts, prepare reports and detailed presentations for the aircraft manufactures and developers in order to exhibit design properties and appropriate visualization as per QR standards prior to preparing for testing and implementation of such designs within aircraft.

Interpret, re-think and re-design customer needs as outlined in creative briefs and translates them into compelling visual product designs.

Educational requirements:

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Industrial Design or Mechanical Design with 4 years; with an emphasis on Advanced 3D CAD modelling solid, wireframe, and surface

Experience managing projects, working collaboratively with diverse disciplines and professionals
Strong design management skills; excellent understanding of the design process, industrial design, engineering, brand strategy, and methodology
Experience working with 2D and 3D CAD software including complex solid & surface modelling skills

The ability to translate design intent into high quality 3D CAD surfaces from sketches.
Proficient planning and organization skills, initiative, accountability, and a strong attention to detail
Competent computer database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing abilities

Assumes ownership of actions, follows instructions, offers ideas, and follows through on commitments; volunteers readily and offers to help and assist when work is complete
Generates and uses creative ideas to improve processes and services; adapts to change, works in an organized manner, uses time efficiently; and displays a positive outlook
Should have excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills

Must have leadership qualities and multi-tasking skills
Command of English language

Experience requirements:

Must have a relevant work experience of minimum 4 years in the Industry with some relevant experience in product development.
