Job Title – Audiologist – (2200000M) Jobs in Al – Zahra, Jeddah – Saudi Arabia
Responsibilities:
- Manages patients suffering from hearing and balance problems (diagnostic test, treatment, and rehabilitation program).
- Recommends appropriate hearing aids to the patients.
- Develops technical procedures and instructions related to his function.
- Performs special studies as directed.
- In frequent contact with E.N.T. surgeons for special audiometric testing and consultations.
- Supervises the cochlear implant program (pre-operative selective and post-operative rehabilitation program).
- Prepares selective cases for visiting professors.
- Monitors the quality of medical care provided to patients under his/her care.
- Implements duly approved curative-preventive programs as they relate to his/her patients.
- Works closely with the Chief of the Department and related disciplines in developing policies and procedures to promote quality healthcare.
- Determines which ENT procedure is proper to undertake and when new techniques will be utilized for a patient and discuss it with the team involved.
- Participates in the T.Q.M. programs in collaboration with T.Q.M. Department. Must be an active member of hospital-wide committees like the Code Blue Committee in a position designated or elected by committee members.
- Provides continuing education, training, and demonstration by sharing new procedures and techniques with colleagues, nurses, and technicians assigned within the department in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Research Center.
- Attends to work and on-call schedules on time and performs duties completely before ending the shift.
- Endorses to the next shift any uncompleted task to be continued and/or completed.
- Attends scheduled or unscheduled meetings to discuss and resolve problems.
- Assists the Chief of the ENT Department as required like assuming administrative responsibility in the absence of the Chief or looking after his patients as requested.
- Performs other duties necessary to effect efficient services in the department without hesitation.
Educational requirements:
- MBBS or MBBCH (or its equivalent from the country of origin) plus one (1) year Internship
- Msc followed by M.D. or board or equivalent in the specialty.
Experience requirements:
- Minimum seven (7) years as a consultant after qualification
- At least seven (7) published papers in reputable local or international journals in his/her specialty.
Desired Skills:
- With a broad knowledge of his/her area of specialty and hospital or healthcare administration including policies, procedures, and standard medical practices applicable to the area of specialization.
- Thorough knowledge of medical and professional ethics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical, clinical, and technical aspects in both ambulatory and hospital settings.
- Ability to solve problems of patients and personnel of varied nationalities under supervision.
- Proficiency both in English and Arabic is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.
- Highly motivated.
- Learns quickly.
