Responsibilities:
- To provide patient care, assist and/or perform respiratory care services and basic cardiopulmonary diagnostic test procedures and basic polysomnography studies for neonatal,
- paediatric and adult patients in accordance to the clinical objectives established by the ordering or attending physicians, the Cardiology Consultants, the Pulmonary Consultants, Intensivists, other Specialty Medical Consultants, the CPD Director and Medical Director and following the AHD / CPD Clinical Policy and Procedures, the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) and the American Association of Sleep Medicine (AASM) clinical practices and guidelines. To provide a holistic and compassionate patient care and perform a safe, quality, and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services and basic cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests as clinically indicated and as prescribed by physicians in order to achieve efficacious, accurate and quality results.
- To respect, observe and maintain patient’s rights and confidentiality during patient care.
Educational requirements:
- A graduate of a two (2) years or four (4) years degree or equivalent in Respiratory Care Program and who holds a professional license from a country point of recruitment is required.
- A clinical certificate or diploma in Respiratory Care Program and any of the following additional basic cardiopulmonary diagnostic test experience that includes; Electrocardiography (ECG), Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) is required and basic Polysomnography (PSG) Studies is required.
- A clinical and practical competency record of respiratory care services performed and any of the above basic cardiopulmonary diagnostic test and basic polysomnography studies is required.
- A current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications is required.
- A current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
Experience requirements:
- A minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and/or as a Respiratory Therapist is required and with clinical background to perform basic cardiopulmonary is required and basic polysomnography studies is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years clinical experience working in the neonatal, paediatric, and adult critical care units is preferred.
- A strong ability and competence to operate and troubleshoot all cardiopulmonary medical equipment that includes; the Cardiac Monitors, Pulse Oximeters, the Invasive and Non-invasive Mechanical Ventilators, the Suction Machines, the Blood Gas Analysers, the Medical Gases Equipment, Bedside Spirometer, Wrights Manometer and Oxygen Medical Devices is required.
- A strong ability and competence to operate and troubleshoot all diagnostic test machines that includes the Electrocardiography (ECG), Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) machine and the Polysomnography (PSG) system is preferred.
- A clinical experience working in other different areas that includes the outpatient clinic, the inpatient ward, the emergency department is required and respiratory home care is preferred.
