Job Title – Senior Engineer Sustainability (Brussels) Jobs in Brussels, Belgium

Responsibilities:

Come up with sustainable value engineering proposals for our construction projects (ex. re-using materials) while keeping both environmental and financial impact in mind;
Contributing to and supporting the implementation of our sustainability strategy;

Expertise development in the field of sustainable construction (monitoring new products and techniques, digitalisation and data processing, meetings with potential suppliers, relations with professional associations active in the field, etc.);
You help developing environmental impact procedures: digital tools and integration of environmental indicators for the construction process;
Participate in the research and development of innovative and sustainable solutions (such as life cycle analysis and environmental performance) in collaboration with industrial partners and research institutes;

You collaborate across all departments and make proposals of sustainable solutions in the tender, design and construction phases of our projects;
Carbon footprint calculations with 1-click-LCA software;
Supporting our projects in obtaining environmental certifications like LEED, HQE and BREEAM;

Educational requirements:

You are passionate about sustainable construction / materials and you want to make a positive impact;

You are fluent in Dutch or/and French (both oral and written) with a good professional level in English (both oral and written);

Experience requirements:

You have experience or a deep interest in sustainable construction and materials;

You have experience with environmental impact indicators and life cycle analysis (LCA) (and/or 1-click-LCA);
Knowledge and experience in the construction industry is an advantage;

Desired Skills:

Eager to learn new things and ready to follow trainings;

Knowledge and experience in environmental certification (LEED / BREEAM / HQE, etc) is a plus;
You are well organized and have an eye for detail;
You are a fluent communicator and have the ability to write clear documents

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.
Highly motivated.
