Job – Structural Engineer – Level 3

Job Responsibilities:

We envisage success in this role to include;

• Assists senior staff in evaluation and design of structures, and preparation of design documentation.
• Coordination of structural design information with requirements of other disciplines.
• Participates in the departmental QAQC system as directed.
• Capable of the selecting of viable alternative structural concepts and evaluate these alternatives to select most suitable for the project.
• Prepare design criteria reports, create structural analysis models and design structural element to produce complete design with limited guidance from Senior Engineers and Technical Leader.
• Ensures that design requirements are properly indicated on drawings.
• work closely with other disciplines and project managers and attends design team meetings.
• May visit construction sites to clarify design requirements and check that construction is adhering to the design requirements.
• Responds to request for information from the sites.
• Communicates clearly, effectively and concisely in writing and verbally. Ability to comprehend, evaluate, and interpret documents.  Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Strong
• Organizational, systematic and quantitative skills. Ability to effectively present information clearly.
• Partners with clients to exceed their expectations and build client relations.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of structural analysis and design. Knowledge of structural design codes,mainly UK/American codes plus loacl codes.
• Knowledge of design and spreadsheet applications, including ETABS, SAFE, STAAD and others.
• Understanding of structural design and construction.
