Cook I – Job Responsibilities
- It is part of your role to understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, with all rules, regulations, and other requirements.
- It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities.
- Washes and peels ingredients in order for them to be used in the production of dishes.
- Ensure that all mise en place is prepared to the highest quality as per standards set by the superiors.
- Ensure the set up and replenishment of buffets.
- Assist superiors in the pickup of requisition and in organizing it in the corresponding storage.
- Inform superior of ingredient quantities when the stock levels are low and ensures there are always enough for the day to day usage.
- Store ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved and labelled according to standard.
Cook I – Requirements
- Customer Focus –Friendly and service oriented personality with good interpersonal skills.
- Organized and Detailed – Detail oriented and uses resources and time effectively by supporting his superiors at all time.
- Ethics and Values – Maintains values and integrity; humble, respectful and honest.
- High School qualification or equivalent.
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary art is preferred.
- A minimum 1 year of culinary experience working as Cook I in a high volume hotel or free standing restaurant is preferred.
- Ability to work long hours with a strong focus on operational excellence.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 kg without assistance.
