Job – Instrument Projects Engineer

Job Description:

To perform basic and detailed design and engineering works on both field instrumentation and control systems (includes DCS, ESD, SCADA F&G, Building HVAC Controls, Public address systems, machine control systems) including interface between these systems using established communication protocols.
Perform detailed engineering of Instrumentation & systems with the application of various international codes and standards and recommended engineering practices to develop the engine ering package which includes engineering deliverables.

To Exhibit proficiency in review and execution of design and engineering of all types of process measurement instruments and control systems of the Projects with minimal assistance.
Familiarity in using software tools such as instrucalc, flowel, conval, exSILentia
Develop project specifications, instrument data sheets and specifications, sizing and calculations, design basis documents, requests for quotations, techno commercial evaluations and recommendations, follow up of instrument equipment orders, review and approve transmittals and technical deliverables to meet the project deadlines.

Follow up vendors for instrumentation equipment and multi discipline packages, engineering (and various skids) and fabrication along with conducting expediting and inspection visits, prepare and follow up upon various Contractual correspondences as and when required.
Follow up contractors and subcontractors within own discipline scope during engineering and construction phases in order to assure the quality and safety aspects of the work.
Coordinate /manage and be part of the engineering and execution of multi discipline, multi scope Projects according to the Company Project Handling Procedures, including project planning, scheduling, Cost estimation, HAZOP and SIL studies, regular reporting, controls, communication protocols, develop and manage various project deliverables and to give regular forecasts.

Coordinates with other discipline engineers to ensure that multi discipline interfaces and scope are properly addressed.
Ensures that work is executed in accordance with approved work processes and procedures using standard tools which have been adopted and developed by the Company.
To perform execution and follow up activities of feasibility studies,

To develop and manage the EPC tender and contract, includes, tender preparations with scope of work, conditions of contract, schedule, compensation, administration and technical requirements, follow the tendering process defined by company, technical bid evaluation and final recommendations, participate in negotiations, manage approvals, prepare and award of contract, Contract management from kickoff till close out ensuring scope, cost , schedule and quality following Company’s established procedures and standard practices.
Follow up and verify the status of Mechanical Completion activities of the Project, commissioning preparation: planning and execution to ensure that the day-to-day commissioning activities are in hand and report any contractual non-conformity to Superior.
Providing a close watch on budgets and technical issues affecting quality and/or schedule together with supplying current and timely status reports on all project tasks assigned.

Prepare and coordinate for the documentation & drawings of the projects through in-house draftsmen or contractor(s).
To conduct & participate in Safety Reviews, Safety Walks, Job Safety Analysis, Tool Box Meeting and will have required knowledge of industrial Safety standards, recommended practices & Safe Work Permit requirements, and comply with all relevant QAFCO Integrated Management System procedures in respect to Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment
Participate in the training of new and/or national trainees to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills to independently perform their tasks.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline.
A minimum of 10 years proven successful experience in a relevant instrumentation and systems engineering within the Oil & Gas, Fertilizer or Petrochemical Industry.
Knowledge of software’s related to Instrument Engineering.

Ability to read and interpret Technical Documentation.
Display high awareness and knowledge on safety procedures in live plants.
