Mechanical engineer Job Requirements

Designs and prepares mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, water and sewage treatment, fire systems, medical gas systems, etc.) including drawings to strictly conform to international codes, standards and professional practices.

Coordinates mechanical systems with architectural components of the building and other disciplines.
Prepares site plans and utility drawings.
Selects and specifies material and equipment as required for systems design by him or as required and appropriate.

Improves & upgrades mechanical specifications, materials, methods used adopting the latest technologies.
Prepares technical specifications and Bill of Quantities.
Inspects work design by him and/or others.

Supervises on-site construction for compliance with the contract s technical specifications.
Performs progress monitoring and quality assurance reviews.
Reviews, recommends approval of shop drawings, product data and samples submitted by Contractors.

Prepares and updates as-built drawings.
Reviews Change Orders and substitutions.
