Job Title – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator(Teacher) (SEND) Jobs in NEOM City, Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities

  • The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator/Teacher (SEND) is responsible for:
  • Coordinate and collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement a comprehensive inclusion and diversity program that fosters a sense of belonging for all students, including those from underrepresented groups.
  • Coordinate resources and programs to support student learning needs, including accommodation for students with disabilities.
  • Act as a liaison between families, staff, and community organizations to address inclusion and diversity matters.
  • Develop and implement specialized programs and interventions to support the academic and emotional needs of students presenting with SEND in all of its forms.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure that all students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications to meet their individual learning needs.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, relevant agencies where available to ensure that all stakeholders are working together to support the best interests of each student.
  • Provide and identify ongoing training opportunities and guidance to staff members to promote best practices in the area of SEND.
  • Develop and implement professional development opportunities for staff to support cultural competency and understanding of diverse learners.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national regulations related to SEND.
  • Actively participates in the identification and support of students needing additional support and leads in the planning, coordinating, developing, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of the ELL program.
  • Maintain confidential records on all referred students and student/parent contacts in accordance with the NEOM Policy and Ministry of Education Requirements
  • Maintain effective and efficient recordkeeping procedures.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, safeguarding and IEP meetings, and any other meetings pertaining to student learning, wellness and achievement.
  • Coordinate, schedule and ensure that the team administers relevant and appropriate standardized and diagnostic assessments and provides accommodations for ELLs on school-wide assessments.
  • Assist teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students presenting with SEND.

Educational requirements:

  • (B. ED/B.A) in Education Additional SEND / relevant field qualification
  • MA/M. ED second degree or further relevant qualification

 

Experience requirements:

  • Experience in a mature, responsible, and positive disposition and be able to work flexibly as a member of the whole school team under the direction of the Head of School and independently when required.

Desired Skills:

  • Have a sound understanding of the importance of children’s learning and development in the Middle Years and have the ability to identify and support staff in developing professional skills according to need.
