Transportation and Waste Management Supervisors – Job Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement waste management and recycling plans
• Identify waste, quantify and segregate in order to implement these plans
• Coordinate with the respective authorities and prepare the documentation required to move, track and report waste on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis
• Evaluate and advise on waste reuse and recycling opportunities
• Stay informed and up to date with respect to waste management regulations and ensure that they are adhered to
• Provide waste management training to clients and staff in order to reduce waste
• Aiming to meet waste reduction and recycling targets by monitoring waste reports
• Supervising the transportation of waste and update of records for related reports supervising the transportation of waste to ensure that it takes place efficiently without contaminating air, land or water sources;
• Assisting with the development, promotion and implementation of new waste disposal schemes;
• Monitoring the quality and performance of waste services, including contract management of external providers; aiming to meet waste reduction and recycling targets;
• Consulting with the line departments about waste management issues, identifying their requirements and providing appropriate solutions;
• Daily documentation of all types of waste generated and ensure proper accounting procedures for the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reporting
• Ensure waste manifest documentation for all types of waste generated including the disposal with the subcontractors
