Role Purpose:
 

The role will coordinate social media, content development, digital advertising and media buying, research & CRM campaigns for all studio film releases. The Associate Digital Manager must have a deep understanding of the digital marketing and entertainment space with experience building large organic and paid media campaigns on social and digital platforms. They should be familiar with the digital creative process and adept at building creative for multiple territories that align back to a central film strategy. They should also be experts in social strategy, voice, creative and community management, digital platforms, apps and emerging technology. They need to have a proven track record of innovation in the digital space and an ability to think big and “out of the box” to break through, drive awareness and generate earned media for our films.

 

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role will coordinate the digital strategy and execution of film release campaigns.

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Digital Marketing

  • Develop full scope digital marketing plans to drive fan engagement across online platforms
  • Liaise with other areas within the marketing department (creative, publicity, research, data, partnerships) to ensure that digital extensions are fully integrated into campaigns
  • Coordinate digital campaign components across multiple territories, from trailer launch, campaign strategy and main campaign asset sharing
  • Engage with studio, partners and agencies to execute impactful and cost-effective digital and social media plans
  • Help maintain relationships with key digital promotional partners and work with them on promotional activities, content creation, exclusive events and other partnership opportunities
  • Use social listening to report on film awareness levels and intention to purchase prior to release
  • Use data tools to identify and target key audience segments
  • Provide in-depth analysis measuring the success of campaigns/tools and communicate the results to all relevant stakeholders
  • Build budget, and effectively execute paid media campaigns
  • Review plans and challenge media agencies where necessary
  • Spot digital trends, understand new technologies and social media behavior and align these with business objectives to create new and innovative marketing opportunities and solutions

 

Social Media Management

  • Develop the regional strategy for each film and ensure that the approach in the market aligns with the wider global vision
  • Monitor and report on studio’s social media accounts, providing monthly reviews of social media performance
  • Ensure daily content updates that are relevant and engaging to the different target audiences for upcoming movie releases, topical movie news and engaging movie posts
  • Daily execution of tasks related to the social media strategy across identified digital platforms (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok and Clubhouse)
  • Coordinate prompt responses (in English and Arabic) to questions and comments over social media platforms and ensure resolution of all issues
  • Plan, manage and execute the content calendar for studio social accounts

 

Data and Research

  • Use social listening to report on film awareness levels and intention to purchase prior to release
  • Use data tools to identify and target key audience segments
  • Provide in-depth analysis measuring the success of campaigns/tools and communicate the results to all relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct tracking and analysis on each film release to assess awareness and intention to watch levels
  • Initiate and manage adhoc research projects to deliver valuable insights to the business aimed at improving film performance

 

Content Creation

  • Create inspirational content that reflects the strategy of each film and engages the audience
  • Attend studio promotional events to create engaging content for all social media platforms in line with the studio’s tone of voice
  • Work with in-house design team for conceptualization and development creative content to be used across digital platforms
  • Identify and work with social media influencers/bloggers to promote each film with the correct target audience

 

Functional/Technical Competencies
  • In-depth understanding of digital planning, buying and performance functions in the MENA region
  • Strong knowledge of digital media principles, customer data analysis, online conversion, tracking and reporting processes and technologies
  • Experience with email, search engine, social media, display, programmatic and mobile advertising
  • Experience with ad management panels on all prominent social media platforms
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics
  • Experience working in or managing an agency
  • Social media obsessed: demonstrated experience with social platforms
  • Familiarity with one or more social media listening platforms
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills in English and Arabic
  • Data analysis/research skills

  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills (Arabic would be an advantage)
