Job Description

Role Purpose:
Supporting the execution of the sustainability and ESG program and responsible for coordinating the environment and social initiatives and compliance with law and regulatory requirements

Accountability Result Indicators:

Help, support, and coordinate the implementation of ADIB’s ESG strategy
Help monitor ADIB’s ESG performance and compliance with ADIB’s ESG policy
Coordinate regular meetings of the ADIB ESG/sustainability committee, including preparation of agenda and materials, ADIB ESG performance updates, and support follow-up on key decisions

Help monitor the integration of ESG into ADIB core financial products, ranging from monitoring for broad ESG risks, to tracking carbon exposure of the financing portfolio, to ESG-related product/service innovation opportunities.
Support improved systems for collecting and monitoring ESG data, including the engagement of a wide variety of departments and business regions
Lead or oversee the writing of ADIB’s annual ESG/sustainability report

Proactively and reactively engage with ESG rating firms and other ESG stakeholders to optimize ADIB’s ESG ratings score and attract ESG-focused capital and clients
Coordinate regular review and updating of ESG risks, opportunities, strategy, and action plans.
Coordinate the monitoring of stakeholder expectations on ESG, and support decision-making on ADIB’s adoption of sector-specific or other relevant ESG global, regional and national initiatives or regulatory requirements.

Overall, support the Management in driving education, communication, and implementation of ESG across the bank.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

Bachelor’s degree and above
Professional qualifications and/or experience in ESG/sustainability

Excellent understanding of the banking sector, and understanding of the workings of financial products, including emerging sustainable finance products
Good information management and communication skills, capable of coordinating the collection of large amounts of data and content, and synthesizing it into well-written public ESG reports.
Able to effectively engage with internal stakeholders to encourage ongoing and timely ESG strategy implementation and ongoing innovation. Able to effectively engage with a wide range of external stakeholders on ESG issues of interest to that stakeholder.
