Job – HEAD OF TRAINING – ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY

Job Description & Qualifications  :

The Head of Training will develop, deliver, and manage a world-class training program through a variety of techniques to ensure that the Program team understands and is capable of achieving the Program’s Environmental and Sustainability (E&S) requirements.

“What You’ll Be Doing”

  • Identify and assess organizational E&S knowledge needs through review of Program E&S requirements, team and staff consultations and other methods.
  • Create a curriculum to facilitate strategic training based on the organization’s goals.
  • Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to develop and deliver an excellent training program.
  • Develop and implement individual and group training programs.
  • Develop training policies, procedures, KPIs, goals and targets.
  • Develop manuals, publications, bulletins and other training materials.
  • Identify and implement effective and purposeful training and awareness methods.
  • Effectively manage the training budget.
  • Evaluate performance to ensure that training KPIs and targets are achieved.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in performance.
  • Assess employees’ skills, performance and productivity to identify areas of improvement.
  • Drive E&S values and philosophy through all training and development activities.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, trainers and management.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the training industry.

“What Required Skills You’ll Bring”

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in environmental science or other physical sciences, environmental engineering or equivalent natural resource related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • One or more industry recognized environmental certifications preferred (IEMA, CEnv., REP / REM, QAES, CPESC, etc.).
  • Sustainability certifications (LEED/Estidama/CEEQUAL etc.) would be an asset.
  • Management qualifications (PMP, MBA, other) would be an asset.
  • Must possess one or more internationally recognized qualifications in Training or Education.
  • 15+ years of combined work experience as an Environment and/or Sustainability professional, with the bulk of this experience in the civil infrastructure industry, reflecting a gradual increase in responsibility.
  • 5 or more years of experience in training or education.
  • GCC experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong track record in developing and executing successful training programs.
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Familiar with traditional and modern training processes.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
