Job Title – General Manager – New Build Rig Jobs in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia
Responsibilities:
- Management of key relationships between the IMI Group and its customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Ensure that projects are completed in accordance and in compliance with the Company’s contractual obligations, on time and on budget.
- Focus on Risk and Opportunity Management within projects with the Project Manager and provide feedback to COO.
- Manage the process of forecasting labor demand at facility level as part of the Company labor management process.
- Oversee hand over of Proposals from the BD to the Project Management group.
- Establish, in liaison with other functional groups, project organization charts and project resource requirements based upon project work scopes and budgets.
- Ensure “early warning” systems are in place to identify project problems and that steps are then put in place to manage such problems.
- Review Cost Reports with Project Managers and the BD team to ensure all project targets are being met and risk is being managed.
- Attend, when required, project kick-off meetings and monthly progress meetings with Clients.
- Meet with Clients on an ad hoc basis to ensure that their expectations are being managed.
- Assist Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Construction Management in dealing with any areas of conflict either internally or with Clients.
- Provide problem solving support to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Construction Management as required.
- Promote good communication between all departments and between the Company’s facilities.
- Arrange and chair facility operation meetings.
- Support the BD team with proposals, forecasts and provide technical assistance when required.
- Support the management and execution of major crane lifts, load outs, quayside and marine activities.
- Support the PSCM with the implementation of strategic procurement initiatives.
- Support the Company marketing effort when requested.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) responsibilities.
- Maintenance activities and practices in assets of the company is an advantage.
Educational requirements:
- Degree/professional qualification in a relevant discipline
- Formal Qualification in Project Management (PMI)
- Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
Experience requirements:
- At least 12 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Construction Industry of which 8 years in a Project Management / Project Engineer capacity
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge In: Engineering Project Management, Fabrication and Construction Methods, Construction Engineering, Welding and Manufacturing Processes, Design and Detail Engineering, Relevant international standards including ASME, API, ANSI, BSI etc., Contracts and Legal Requirements, Planning and Scheduling Health, Safety and Environment management, Construction Documentation, Estimating and Quotation.
- Skilled In: Negotiating and resolving conflicts, assessing contractual needs and requirements, Communicating, and managing interests of stakeholders, Inter-personal communication, and Documentation Preparation.
