Job – HEAD OF SOLUTION ARCHITECTURE

Job Description & Qualifications  :

Summary:

A hands on head of Solution Architecture leading and managing a team of solution and integration architects. Reporting to the Director of IT Strategy, working closely with the Enterprise and Cloud Architectures as well as the Business Change and the business SMEs, ensuring solutions are scalable and meet business, technical and commercial requirement. Solution should be business led, covering a wide range of business capabilities including but not limited to Project Information Management Systems, Design & Engineering, Assurance Information Mngt Systems (AIMS), Systems of Analytics, Field Operations, Productivity, Collaboration & Conferencing, Integration Mngt, Data Centre & Network and IT4IT.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Establishing Solution Architecture Standards and Practices
• Leading and developing a team of solution architects and designers Evangelizing the value of solution optioneering and design
• Promote modern solution design methods and approaches
• Ensuring solutions are documented and aligned with Enterprise Architecture and Strategy whilst also responsive to tactical needs
• Support the procurement process
• Working closely with Business Change, including PMs and Bas and in iterative and agile manner
• Solution Architect responsibilities include testing and integrating program software systems to address and solve specific business problems across the organization.
• Provide supervision and guidance to development teams should the need arise
• Builds architecture libraries of capabilities, skills and tech inventory; supporting a plan to close the skills gap. Finds the balance between technical, behavioral, and business and operating model skills.

Qualifications:

• ISEB certificate in Enterprise Architecture and Solution architecture or similar

• Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. • Strong technical and delivery skills.

• Excellent analytical skills • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop strategic goals, prioritize, allocate resources, and establish performance measurement for tracking results.

• Experience in engaging with and presenting executive leadership, managers and operatives alike

• Experienced systems thinker and practitioner

Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge and experience working with enterprise data architecture and data services practices, data solutions architecture and design, system development life cycle management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations and leading data related frameworks and standards.

• TOGAF 9, Zachman • Common Data Environment / IFC / COBIE • Project Controls Systems e.g Oracle P6, Unifier • BIM/GIS Platform e.g. ACC, 3DS, Bentley, ArcGIS etc.

• Design Patterns • OT/SCADA • Azure, ADF, Synapse, Databricks, PowerBI • AWS • Enterprise Data Warehousing, Agile BI/EDWH

• Big Data Analytics • Docker • SQL/NoSQL

• DevOps CICD • Scaled Agile • Scaled architectural framework
