Job – Lab Technician

Job Description:

1. Conduct physical laboratory tests on given solid and liquid samples to provide data for process control, product blending & certification and for the optimization of refinery process units.
2. Carry out verification/witness testing under referee conditions on the samples where results are subject of quality or any other customer dispute.
3. Check all equipment prior to use to ensure it is fit for purpose. Maintain all laboratory equipment in a clean state before and after use and ready for the next analysis. Report all equipment faults promptly to Shift Supervisor to support continuous equipment availability.
4. Use appropriate instruments to assess the physical properties of refinery process and finished products to achieve accuracy in testing.
5. Maintain the required Laboratory test data books and other records to ensure compliance  with the Laboratory’s Quality System requirements.
6. Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) on received samples and test results to ensure timely availability of data to Laboratory customers.
7. Participate in the Refinery Fire Squad team to provide operational cover in case of fire or any other emergency, after completing required safety training.
