Job – MATERIALS ENGINEER – ELECTRICAL

Job Description & Qualifications  :

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review Material submission to ensure that it meets performance requirement of various materials in accordance with specifications.
• Observes in product testing process as appropriate, if and when required.
• Review Test Result Data for various material as submitted. Also, verify that the test results fall within allowable limits of the performance specification requirements.
• Review and comment on performance specification to adequately cover the requirements and performance of the proposed materials.
• Coordinate and support to design and quality teams on the material specifications sought for a particular application or product.
• Review the proposed materials by the Consultants and Contractors based on weight, strength, heat and cold tolerance, cost, and durability.
• Review and prepare Comment Resolution Sheets (CRS) on material submission, specifications, and design reports as related to material engineering
• Identify and coordinate with Contractor (manufacturers/suppliers), when applicable, the reasons the selected material did or did not fulfill desired specifications
• When a material fails at site, gathers data and analyzes the reasons why the material did not meet specifications.
• Performs other related duties as assigned including site visits to attend meetings or temporarily support Construction Supervision staff.

• Experience in review of specifications and material submission Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be thorough and pay attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to fully understand requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of design review team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as PC literacy and working knowledge of CAD and other computer software used for design/drafting.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Total of 10-15 years’ experience, out of which, the last 10 years were as Material Engineer for the specific specialty.
• Experience with Electrical Low and Medium voltage wiring and equipment’s and Specifications both in rough and finish installations. Including Utilities and Assets.
