Job – Production Manager (Fabrication Plant)

Job Description

Production Manager (Fabrication Plant)

Qualification

Ø Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

Ø Minimum 10 years of work experience in Oil & Gas, Steel Fabrication, Structural steel & Architectural steel fabrication.

Ø Working knowledge of Auto-CAD

Ø GCC experience is preferable

Skills Required

Ø Expertise in equipment & machinery set-ups in a fabrication workshop and its maintenance.

Ø Must have good exposure in establishing safe working condition and implementing procedures.

Ø Able to read production drawings necessary

Ø Demonstrated ability to make decisions and set direction

Ø Excellent Communication skills

Ø Knowledge of raw materials and fabrication, quality systems and standards, process improvement techniques

Ø Proven project management skills

Ø Demonstrated team building and leadership skills to lead the production and operation team of workshop.

Ø Strong technical expertise in a manufacturing environment

Ø In-depth computer skills including Microsoft applications

Responsibilities

Ø Planning and organizing production schedules

Ø Should be capable to lead the production team of 200+ employees

Ø Should be reporting day to day activities properly to the direct manager

Ø Assessing project and resource requirements

Ø Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients

Ø Ensuring that quality control and health and safety regulations are met

Ø Overseeing production processes & flow

Ø Proper Value Engineering to be done on each product and cost-reduction method to be implemented

Ø Proper control of Inventory

Ø Confirming the availability of materials and ordering in ahead of time to keep the production flow in line

Ø Maximize productivity of machinery and workers and make zero idle time

Ø Proper planning of manpower and materials for the production line

Ø Organizing the preventive and routine maintenance of production equipment

Ø Train, supervise, and manage production line workers

Ø Supervising and managing the work of junior staff

Ø Increase speed and effectivity of processes without compromising quality

Ø Organizing relevant training sessions

Ø Hire technicians to maintain equipment for maximum safety and efficiency

Ø Diagnose origin of breakdowns, including human error, and troubleshoot problems

Ø Proper coordination with other departments.
