QA/QC Inspector – Job Description

• Study, understand company QAQC procedures and implement those within their duties
• Study and understand project scope, specifications, ITP’s (Inspection Test Plan) and method statements.
• Carry out internal inspections of the workplace monitoring the works against the required specifications, identifying discrepancies, provide advice and guidance to the construction team on specification and workmanship.
  Prepare Quality tour reports. Assist as necessary in the resolution of field quality issues
• Manage testing arrangements/processes for area assigned, liaise with testing companies, take/organise required samples, ensure traceability etc
• Issue Non-conformances reports to Project Management Team where works/materials are not conforming to specification and pose a risk to the product. Ensure root cause analysis is conducted identifying corrective action and follow up until implementation is complete.
• Receive RFI (Request for Inspection), liaise with the client’s representative and carry out inspections as per the ITP. Manage the inspection process with the aim to have all RFI approved by the client.
• Alert QAQC Engineer and/or Project Management Team of areas for improvement in quality or that may escalate to the nonconformance. Update Quality Q accordingly on QAQC Notice board
• Assist in the testing and commissioning process and associated handover dossiers at the end of project activities.
• Assist in the review and development of method statements, task sheets, ITP’s, PQP, inspection checklists and traceability logs.
• Assist in preparation of project audit schedule and audits considering project quality system and supplier’s premises, operations and materials
• Assist in the preparation of technical submittals are required, ensuring all specification requirements are being met.
• Provide data for relevant quality reports and logs.
• Participate as required in project meetings providing relevant QAQC information and actions
• Monitor all calibrated equipment for validity.
• Assist in project prestart meetings including relevant QC learning’s, deliver QAQC training to work teams are required to enhance workforce competencies.
• Perform inspections as required to ensure the quality of work meets required specifications.
• Any error in inspection has a Cost/delivery impact and leads to delay in the project and causes excessive usage of materials.
