Job Title – Senior Static Equipment Engineer – Fluid Solids Technology Jobs in Doha, Qatar

Responsibilities:

Provide onsite and remote support during Fluid Solids unit shutdowns
Design typical Fluid Solids equipment using established design methods, including familiarity with pressure design codes, Finite Element Analysis, and piping flexibility analysis for operating units and new innovative projects

Develop specifications for typical fluid solids and flue gas equipment
Perform engineering oversight of detailed design work performed by engineering contractors, and other engineers
Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis for static equipment

Ensure the retention of Fluid Solids mechanical engineering knowledge base within the corporation through mentoring and development of engineers
Ensure maintenance of corporate guides, documents and procedures for the design and maintenance of FCC equipment

Educational requirements:

B.S. (or higher) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years of petrochemical or refining experience, with at least 1 year of experience in the fluid solids portion of FCC or Fluid Coking units
Knowledge of design and analysis methods for fluid solids equipment

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
Willing to occasionally travel domestically and internationally

Experience requirements:

Prefer professional experience within an operating petrochemical or refining company, major engineering contractor, or vendor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired)
Three (3) years of experience in the design and maintenance of fluids solids vessels and transfer lines
Ability to provide asset support and troubleshooting to FCC units using design and analysis methods and risk-based assessments

Ability to provide onsite asset support during FCC planned/unplanned maintenance shutdowns
Ability to inspect FCC equipment and provide risk-based recommendations for repair and replacement
Understanding of the materials of construction and degradation mechanisms associated with FCC equipment

Understanding of the various refractory lining systems and their function in Fluids Solids units
