WHP Senior Project Engineer – Job Description
- To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and company HSEQ procedures in all EPCIC activities;
- To carry out onsite work in compliance with company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed company priorities and objectives, company standards and procedures and good industry practices;
- Ensure that project planning incorporates company HSEQ requirements for safe execution of work;
- To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality;
- Promote a “no change policy” to meet budget and schedule constraint without impairing quality and safety of the EPCIC activities. Identify potential cost saving opportunities and implementation;
- To ensure that contractor clarification requests (Technical queries, Deviations to standards) are reviewed / coordinated and responded to in a timely manner during EPCIC stage;
- To ensure during EPCIC phase follow-up of vendor documentation reviews in compliance with design dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules;
- To promote value engineering during Detail Engineering and maintain list of design opportunities with collaboration with discipline Engineers in the facility design with objective to reduce Project capital expenditures;
- To organize Project Reviews by ensuring availability of required documentation and ensure timely closure of findings/opportunities in coordination with B3 Engineering Coordinator, Construction crew, PMT and auditors;
- To ensure the project risks are adequately identified, assessed, treatment plans developed and documented in the project risk register. Assist in Risk Review workshops;
- To assist EPCIC contract management with regards to all technical, commercial and contractual issues arising during EPCIC execution and liaise with WHP Package Lead on regular basis on that matters;
- To support the WHP Package Lead in ensuring quality, standards are implemented in all scopes of EPCIC;
- To attend HAZID/ HAZOP/ Project Technical reviews sessions with company, Contractors and vendors teams;
- To ensure engineering support to construction and commissioning teams as required;
- To promote alternatives solutions to reduce and to optimise the duration of offshore activities;
- To ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects is considered project works performance;
- To participate and/or manage weekly and monthly meetings with Contractor(s), and call specific ad hoc meetings as required;
- To participate on follow up on the Project progress and risk reporting;
- To liaise with interface engineer on all interface matters and/or help expedite the development of the interface management process between Contractors during EPCIC execution phase;
- Carry out any other duty or task that may be assigned by hierarchical superiors in line with discipline expertise.
WHP Senior Project Engineer – Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering;
- Relevant certificate in Project Management is an advantage.
- Senior Engineer with a good level of multi discipline technical understanding with at least 10 -15 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas projects;
- Experienced with all aspects of Project Management to include project gated reviews, project schedule, cost control and estimation, project finance and contract formation, bidding, administration and project close-out;
- Experience within a project team: At least 7 years’ experience within large multinational taskforce team environment;
- Familiar with Total Energy General Specifications, MANASA, Qatar Energy standards and relevant codes and standards is advantageous;
- Language: Fluent English (Writing and Speaking);
- Computer literate and good analytical skills;
- Strong leadership skills and good communication skills;
