Job – Asset Integrity Engineer

Job Description:

The role is responsible to support the Head of Asset Integrity in carrying out support services of the section.

This role provides support in generating inspection programs, participating in failure investigations and assists during shutdowns / field inspection wherever required.

The role must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with the company’s Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Awareness and comply with the company’s Integrated Management Systems (Quality; Environment; Occupational Health & Safety; Responsible Care; & Energy Management Systems; and IFA Product Stewardship).
  • Risk Based Inspection (RBI) for integrity management of all pressure equipment like pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and pressure relieving devices. The outcome of the RBI process is a risk ranking and proposed inspection strategy for each of the evaluated equipment.
  • Static equipment (piping, pressure vessels, Heat exchanges, Boilers, Tanks, Columns, etc.) inspection activities. These inspection activities include pre shutdown inspections (on-stream) i.e., External inspection and Internal Inspection during shutdowns.
  • Repair of Static Equipment and Piping following ASME PCC-2. Any unacceptable damage/degradation identified on Pressure Equipment needs to be followed up by repair action to restore their mechanical integrity
  • Welding Quality Assurance and Control. Scope covers welding quality assurance and control on piping and static equipment fabrication and weld repairs inside QAFCO premises carried by QAFCO welding group or contractors deployed by welding workshop.
  • Involvement in Projects. Asset integrity section is involved during engineering, fabrication and site installation of static equipment and piping.
  • Liaise with external inspectors to carry out assigned tasks and inspections on equipment.
  • Keep informed of technological developments in the area of responsibility in order to identify and recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness, cost reduction in the systems, procedures, tools and methods.
  • Participate in the on-the-job training of new and trainee technicians to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills to independently perform inspection tasks.
  • Maintain high personnel knowledge and be a resource person in the company in regard to material technology, corrosion, failure mechanisms, welding and inspection methods.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, graduated from a recognized university
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Fertilizer, Petrochemicals or Oil & Gas Industry
