About Woqod Qatar

WOQOD is a Qatari oil and gas company that focuses on the distribution and sale of refined petroleum products made by Qatar Petroleum. It is the only fuel retailer in Qatar and it is listed on the public stock exchange. As of May 2018, the company maintained 63 filling stations across the country. In addition to filling stations, the company operates car workshops, tire stations, and convenience stores. The company also has several subsidiaries.

WOQOD was officially established by Emiri Decree No. 5 Issued on February 10, 2002. Its assets were transferred from the Qatar Petroleum National Oil Distribution Company, which operates a refined petroleum products supply depot at Abu Hamour. In 2009, WOQOD Company established a liquefied petroleum gas plant in the industrial area of Doha. During the Extraordinary General Assembly held in June 2018, the company took a resolution to increase the ownership of non-Qataris to 49% in order to attract investments. A budget of 634 million riyals has been allocated for the year 2018 to be allocated to build new filling stations and develop existing ones. According to company officials, there are plans to install 88 filling stations by the end of 2018, with a total of 100 by 2020.

Job Qualification :

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
3 to 5 years of progressive work experience in an accounting environment

Job Role :

Maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that staff complies with Woqod and Subsidiaries accounting policies and procedures and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).

Ability to work independently while able to identify the appropriate times to involve their supervisors.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to build relationships with others within and outside the accounting team.
Strong organizational skills. Able to prioritize competing demands and continuously meet deadlines.

Advanced skills in Excel. Much of the current analysis involves significant data manipulation within Excel.
Provide assistant to the internal and external auditor.
Detail-oriented and organize.
