Job Title – BIM Manager – Building Jobs in Qatar

Responsibilities:

Strategic
Responsible for delivering a business BIM technology strategy and promoting the benefits of BIM
technologies.
Driving excellence in the implementation of digital information plans and strategies of the QR Group
Supporting the career development, coaching and mentoring of a team of staff
Raising the profile of BIM within across departments and teams
• Adhering to the latest industry standards, QR IT Policy, QR Data Protection Policy and other QR Group
Policies.
• Manage and coordinate sensitive and confidential information.
• Look for efficiencies, productivity and streamlined process strategically in a QR Group wide.
• Understand, apply and execute government standards by implementing during virtual design and
construction phase.
• Keep the organisation informed about the latest and best practices in BIM and 81M software/ tools.

Operational
1, Develop and finalize Scope of Services and Specification for BIM related deliverables in timely
manner in line with the department or project timeline,
2. Develop, formalized QR BIM Standards, Plan and Guide for Local and Outstation projects to be used
by the department and Service Provider to ensure all BIM deliverables are uniform in standard and to
meet or exceed quality set in the standard, Documents to develop not limited to, the following:
a. BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
b. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Methodology Plan
c, 81M Manuals
d, Drawing Deliverables Requirements (DDR)
e, 81M As-Built deliverables
f, 81M/CAD Folder and Filling Structure
g, 81M naming Convention
h, BIM Models/Drawing Template
i. BIM Assets Management Manual
j, FM Data (Data requirements for Operation or Facilities Management)
k, Common Data Environment (CDE) Standard
I. BIM Construction-Operations Building information exchange (COBlE) Guide
m. BIM Manual Geo Referencing
81M Standards must be in compliance within each of the territories with respect to the project location, such as
in Qatar, GCC, EU, etc.
3. Cross check, review and evaluate submitted unified/discipline wise the BIM Contractual Deliverables
or Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) to ensure BIM Service Providers deliverables are
complete, in line with the contracts and in compliance with the QR approved BIM standards not limited
to the following:
a. Complete, unified 3D Models during Design Development Stage, Tender Document Stage
and As-Built Stage
b. Clashes and collision completely resolved
c. LaD (Level of Development/Level of Details) achieved
d. IFC compliant parametric BIM Models or Families
e. Comply with the project requirements
4, Development and update of BIM templates to be used by Design Services Provider to ensure all BIM
deliverables are uniform in standard and meet or exceed quality set by the department.
5. Establish hands-on BIM Training programme for the department’s Architectural, Engineering and
Construction (AEC) and Contracts & Commercial staff with the use of BIM Tools such as Revit®,
Navisworks® on unified/discipline wise BIM models. The trained staffs, must meet or exceed the
intermediate level of skills in BIM Software such as:
a. Extracting and Exporting from BIM Model list quantities, technical information, insights,
analytics, reporting, etc. relevant to their discipline
b. Clash/Collision detection and model checking
c. Cash Flow Data, etc., relevant to department’s Business Functions
d. 3D modelling

6. Manage Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) such as ACONEX, BIM360 and other industry
standard document Management System hosted by the department and ensure smooth flow of
operation within and outside Qatar Airways.
7. Develop Workflows and processes for Data Management and Project Management System in line
with the industry standard and Qatar Airways process.
8. Manage, troubleshoots and resolve issues on BIM, IT and EDMS related deployment (hardware and
software) and insure operations are not disrupted.
9. Interfacing, coordination and follow up between IT System Service Provider and QR IT about issues
and concern related to 81M system and Document Management System and ensure critical issues are
resolved at the earliest.
10. Evaluate Technical documents related to BIM and Document Management System from prospective
Service Providers in collaboration with the Technical Evaluation Team to ensure appointed Service
Provider, passes or exceeds compliance and project requirements.
11. Respond to BIM related Technical queries from prospective Service Provider and ensure to carry out
on timely manner.

Management & Leadership
• Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
• RegUlarly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make
appropriate changes if needed.
• Oversee, train and supervise employees. Instigate, Lead and Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop
and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
• Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
• To be committed and contribute to the National talent development, by coaching the national developees,
preparing them for a career with boundless potential. Leading to the program’s continued growth and
success.

Personal Development
• Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
• Keep abreast with any market trends and developments
• Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its
subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
• Train Qatari staff in various duties as per business requirements

• Ensure that in performance of the role, all uses, disclosures and requests of any information (in any form)
are done in accordance with data protection principles adopted by the QR Group and are limited to what is
reasonably required to accomplish the intended business purposes of the use, disclosure or request.
• Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures regarding the use, processing, disclosure and
security of any information (in any form) and ensure that all staff under my direct supervision are aware of
and comply.
• Consult the Group’s Data Protection Officer in matters related to data protection and privacy as
appropriate.
• Ensure the confidentiality, security and protection of all information handled in the course of duties is
maintained at all times from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, disruption, deletion/destruction,
corruption, modification, inspection or recording.

Operational Safety
• Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and
expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and
supervision.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies,
procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative compliance
and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
• Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations
to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate
supervision in their workplace.
• Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that
appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.

experience
Essential
An Architecture or Engineering Degree
5+ years AEC experience in BIM Management and Implementation
Excellent in IT Skills
Great verbal and written communication skills.
Highly skilled in collaboration and coordination
Extensive knowledge of quality and document management processes.
• With certification Revit® and Navisworks®
• BIM multi-disciplinary skills
Preferred
BIM and Aconex Certification is a plus
Specification and Technical Writing Skills is a plus
Experience in Detailed Design production is a plus
