Job Title – CSSD Technician – (2200000W) Jobs in Al-Khuzama – Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities:

Directs daily sterilization operation of plasma, dry heat, steam sterilizers (autoclaves), ethylene oxide gas sterilizers, or aerators, following established operating procedures.
Assures CSSD Helpers correctly prepare items of various compositions for sterilizing.
Maintains, and monitors to assure co-technicians maintain, established standards as to which sterilization techniques are used for proper processing of all types of materials.

Handles contaminated material properly to minimize cross-contamination and reduce the possibility of self-infection.
Follows established procedures to requisition all necessary supplies, chemicals, and expendables for proper operations.
Serves as a role model and provides training to sterilization CSSD helpers and new co-technicians as necessary.

Keeps abreast of new techniques and new items; testing and provides evaluation data as required; and recommends new or additional equipment to Officer-In-Charge as determined by user requirements.
Receives delivery of supplies and sterilizing agents and stores them in the proper location.
Performs general cleaning of sterilization machines and storage spaces using caustic and flammable liquids (i.e. Cidex and Ether).

Checks sterilizer machines every morning prior to using to ensure that all parts are attached to appropriate connections for proper functioning.
Sets up, calibrates, and operates all sterilizers.
Maintains awareness of safety hazards and takes necessary action to prevent accidents.

Attends monthly staff meetings and daily early morning Communication meetings, In-Service training for self-upgrade.
Participates in fire and disaster plan drills.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Chief of the Operating Room for the efficiency of the service.

Develop and implement action plans to promote person-centered care in your area. Person-centered care revolves around staff, patients and their families, and the community. At SGH, the person-centered care principles are summarized by the CARE (connect-assist-respect-explain) communication and service standards.
Abide by communication and service standards at all times.
Attend training and coaching sessions for communication and service standards.

Service recovery: offer options and solutions to meet and exceed patient’s expectations. Retaining patients and gaining their loyalty is a key part of your role.
Work on improving patient satisfaction in your area.
Abide by CARE communication and service standards when interacting with other staff members or with patients and families

Attend CARE training sessions and other training as required
Play an active role in Patient and Family Education depending on the patient’s needs.

Educational requirements:

BS or diploma in Nursing or diploma in sterilization.

Experience requirements:

2 years minimum current experience as OR Nurse or CSSD Technician

Desired Skills:

Skills to carry out duties properly, promptly, and safely.
Must be familiar with sterilizers, sterilizing agents, and sterilization protocols.

Must have knowledge of sterile technique and field in order to maintain sterility in the work area.
Fluent in spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is desirable.

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.

Highly motivated.
Learns quickly.
