HSE Engineer – Job Description

  • Review and improve contractor HSE Plan & Procedures & Actively supports area leaders in the implementation of the ESH program
  • Developing and implementing safety, security, fire and environmental protection procedures that meet all company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that contractor personnel working on the projects follow Client Safety Policies.
  • Monitor site activities & evaluate any risk associated with these activities and mitigation actions.
  • Conducting regular meetings with contractor HSE Manager & officers
  • Maintains a working relationship with client representatives, leaders and other ESH team members
  • Coordinating with other Global safety & environmental teams for continuous improvement.
  • Interacting with local authorities in case of an emergency and other safety incidents, in addition to leading Emergency & Crisis Response.
  • Acts as the lead investigator for any significant incident in their area
  • Supervises and maintains a team that provides in-field ESH support to all construction areas
  • To work with peers in other disciplines to ensure coherent and integrated policies and systems are created that avoid unnecessary duplication and dissipation of effort
  • To work with the Client Management Team to build knowledge and awareness of issues, approaches, techniques, and methods
  • To undertake HSE reviews of pre-qualifications, tenders, proposed work packages, supplier proposals and start-up meetings
  • To provide a source of specialist HSE advice and support to the program
  • To identify potential and future strategic risks and how they should be minimized or eliminated
  • To provide a credible expert representation of the company in industry forums and external bodies
  • To monitor reporting arrangements and data to identify trends and early warnings of possible issues and recommend appropriate action to Management
  • To participate and envision HSE initiatives in order to promote continuous improvement of work standards and communication of best in class practices
  • Develop and approve strategic reports/documents
  • To participate in weekly, Monthly meetings & resolve the issues raised by the client or contractor.
  • Liaise with the Security team to provide site-level tactical support on overarching Security programs. E.g. Emergency, rescue, safety and fire protection, fire -fighting systems and necessary training
  • Participate in occasional EHS audits at other sites to support the Companies’ overall EHS compliance goals.

HSE Engineer – Job Requirement

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years work experience
  • Preference to candidates with experience in KSA
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English

 

The ideal candidate should have excellent experience, knowledge and the ability to implement and manage HSE legislation, 3 to 10 years of experience and related degrees with a current relevant health and safety qualification(e.g. NEBOSH Diploma/IOSH/CSP Certificate or equivalent).
