Job Title – HSE Advisor Flanders Jobs in Ostend, Belgium

Responsibilities:

Together with the BESIX Operations team you take responsibility for the HSE operational monitoring, advice and performance of the affected site(s);
You represent the QHSE department as the first point of contact for the specific HSE-related competences that are assigned to you from the BESIX HSE Competence Center;

You perform internal HSE inspections & audits in line with the internal MS audit & inspection planning;
You provide training on topics related to your specific HSE-related competencies;
You take responsibility and participate in specific HSE improvement actions in line with the annual HSE action plan;

You support the site in the implementation and application of BESIX’s QHSE policy and HSE-related IM procedures;
You report Key Performance Indicators to the Regional HSE Manager and/or QHSE Business and Site Support Managers;
You build constructive working relationships with the Site, Construction Manager and operational leaders;

You ensure the administrative follow-up of the HSE Management System for your region;
You facilitate the roll-out of Corporate HSE programs (Behavioral based safety, HSE training programs, ect.);
You monitor and support operational activities (HSE aspects) from mobilization to demobilization of sites, this includes subcontractors and supply chain management.

Educational requirements:

You are a health and safety advisor level 1 or 2 (prevention advisor level 1 or 2)

Experience requirements:

You have at least a first relevant experience of 5 years in HSE;
You preferably have experience in construction;

Desired Skills:

You speak fluent Dutch. You have a professional level in English. French is a plus;

You have an entrepreneurial spirit, are motivated, show flexibility, are innovative and result-oriented and promote teamwork;
You also have excellent communication skills, an analytical mind and you are customer-oriented;
You are flexible to work on different projects in Flanders;

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.
Highly motivated.
