Job Title – Orthopedics Consultant – (22000021) Jobs in Al-Khuzama – Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
  • Update charts and patient information to show current findings and treatments.
  • Recommend and design a plan of treatment.
  • Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
  • Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene and patient and family rights.
  • Contributes to physician’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.
  • Performs needed procedures according to assigned privileges when and/or if required.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Complies with KSA legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Provides consultations as per timeframe according to hospital policy and procedures, examinations, and treatments including procedures with a full range of agents, methods, and techniques, observing quality and safety standards.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to colleagues and nursing staff as part of orientation or training in new techniques and procedures.
  • Conducts rounds to inpatients under care to assess patient’s condition and treatment progress; develop treatment care plans; order treatment regimens; establish rapport with the patient and relatives; and answer patient’s
  • Sees patients preoperatively to evaluate patient’s condition and suitability prior to any procedures
  • Examines the patient post-operatively to assess complications, and order further treatment or referral to another specialty as indicated.
  • Participates in the QPS programs in collaboration with QPS Department.  Must be an active member of hospital-wide committees like the Code Blue Committee in a position designated or elected by committee members.
  • Provides continuing education, training, and demonstration by sharing new procedures and techniques to colleagues, nurses, and technicians assigned within the department in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Research Center
  • Attends to work and on-call schedules on time and performs duties completely before ending the shift.
  • Endorses to the next shift any uncompleted task to be continued and/or completed.
  • Responses to emergencies in the hospital without delay during on-call duty.
  • Attends scheduled or unscheduled meetings to discuss and resolve problems.
  • Assists the Chief of the department as required like assuming administrative responsibility in the absence of the Chief or looking after his patients as requested.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality
  • Performs other duties necessary to effect efficient services in the department without hesitation.
  • Observe individual staff members at least twice a month and evaluate communication and service standards.
  • Coach staff members on communication and service standards and hold them responsible for implementation.
  • Be a role model and abide by communication and service standards at all times.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve patient and staff experience in your area.
  • Service recovery: offer options and solutions to meet and exceed patient’s expectations. Retaining patients and gaining their loyalty is a key part of your role. Refer any patients who wish to discontinue treatment to the Patient Experience team.
  • Work on improving patient satisfaction in your area. Educate staff on survey questions and KPIs for your area.

Educational requirements:

  •  MBBS or MBBCH or equivalent. MSc followed by M.D. or equivalent in the specialty.

Experience requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience after MD or equivalent in the specialty.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work for long hours.
  • Good practical skills in the specialty.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and effective decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate well with patients, and demonstrate empathy and reflection.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.

  • Proficiency in English and Spoken Arabic is desirable.
