Job Title – Pipeline Engineering Lead Jobs in Oman

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain in-house pipeline design standard documents.
  • Flow assurance utilizing modeling software to develop models as required for verification of pipeline hydraulics and debottlenecking of systems for expansion.
  • Proactively identifying, quantifying, mitigating, and communicating with integrity department.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to minimize conflicts and errors ensuring a smooth project workflow.
  • Execute mechanical/pipeline engineering projects, reports progress and take corrective actions wherever required to achieve set business targets.
  • Lead pipeline engineering decision-making to ensure that all staff and contractors are working to international specifications and standards and to any project-specific agenda.
  • Provide Pipeline Engineering input to business plan in addition to field Production facilities optimization projects, gathering, disposal, flowlines, network upgrades, export pipeline and injection projects.
  • Assist in monitoring contractor responsibilities and competencies to match job and drive for continuous improvement in engineering performance.
  • Maintain day to day interfacing between his and other engineering disciplines together with Project buyers, Project Engineers, and Project Construction Engineers.
  • Participate Engineering Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Project Reviews and Project Management Plan reviews.
  • Participate in design, safety, and technical assurance reviews in accordance with the approved procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in provision of technical HSE in designs and operations, new technologies to achieve and/or exceed international minimum standards. Coach/train Fresh Engineers.

 

Educational requirements:

  • Minimum technical authority 2 in pipeline engineering.
  • Basic understanding of pipeline hydraulics (single phase and multiphase as well as steady state and dynamic behavior). • Basic understanding of pipeline corrosion processes and other factors influencing material selection. • Good communicator with experience in leading small teams.
  • Demonstrate the following technical competencies:
  • Pipeline material selection (CS, SS, duplex, GRE, PE lined, RTP, PVC)
  • Modelling/analysis of steady state of oil, gas and multiphase pipelines systems.
  • Modelling/analysis of dynamic single phase and multiphase pipelines.
  • Preparation of pipeline Concept Selection Reports (CSR).
  • Preparation of pipeline Basis for Design (BfD).
  • Extensive experience in o Application of Hazardous Area classification.
    • Specification of pipeline pressure, temperature, and flow control system.
    • Specification of pipeline flow measurement.
    • Execution of pipeline detailed design (drawings and specifications).
    • Execution of pipeline design reviews and HAZOP’s.
    • Execution of IPF reviews and preparation of pipeline safeguarding memorandum.
    • Specification of pipeline operating envelopes.
    • Specification pipeline hydrotest, pre-commissioning and commissioning requirements.
    • Assessment of key uncertainties on hydrocarbon export systems (risk matrix).
    • Surface production system operating envelopes.
    • Definition of subsurface and surface production systems. Prepare production systems detailed design.

 

Experience requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in pipeline design and construction.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Front End Engineering Design.
