Job Title – Project Engineer – Integrated Turnkey Jobs in Houston – Texas, USA

Responsibilities:

Proposal Support:

• Assist the proposal manager with reviewing client RFP to determine project scope and technical requirements

• Coordinate with discipline engineers to develop preliminary PFD, P&IDs, Plot Plans, equipment lists and other quantities to support estimating

• Develop RFQ packages for securing quotes for equipment, materials, and services

Interface with the Enerflex Engineered Systems Team, the Balance of Plant Engineering sub-contractor, and our Clients:

• After project award, liaison with the ITK Project Development Team to hand over all data used for estimating and understand the background associated with the project

• Identify the customer’s requirements (technical/products problems, execution issues) and implement effective solutions

• Review and ensure 3rd party engineering deliverables are accurate and in accordance with the scope and project requirements

• Coordinate and resolve technical issues with the customer (closure of technical action items, respond to technical clarifications, and issue deviation requests)

• Attend internal and external project meetings (regular weekly meetings, kick off, coordination, HAZOP, design reviews, etc.)

• Ensure approved scope changes are documented and implemented

Lead internal/external design activities and technical decisions to support the project.

• Develop the project P&IDs, RFQ packages, and requisitions for Balance of Plant equipment assigned to him/her and coordinate all other deliverables

• Assist in the development of internal departmental standard and process improvement initiatives

• Participate in all aspects of design reviews with the project team

• Ensure that Customer’s technical requirements are documented and effectively communicated within Enerflex’s engineering and site execution teams involved in the production of deliverables or the supply equipment/materials for the project

• Generate the Balance of plant Bill of Material for instrumentation, valves, and specialty items

Lead the Quality Assurance program for the project

• Ensure project QA/QC requirements are documented and communicated to engineering, equipment fabrication facilities, material suppliers, and construction teams

• Perform inspections, witness tests, attend FATs, and review produced documentation to ensure compliance to project QA/QC requirements

• Ensure all deliverables have been reviewed, approved, and signed off prior to being issued

• Perform P&ID walkdowns and shop inspections of fabricated equipment/packages to ensure compliance with design and project requirements

• Make regular visits to the construction site to ensure compliance with IFC deliverables

• Participate in site PSSR process, including walk downs of facility to ensure PSSR requirements are met ahead of the PSSR meeting

Own the planning of all engineering activities

• Maintain master document register and keep track of deliverable submittals to the client and 3rd parties

• Follow up on technical issues related to equipment, construction and commissioning, as needed

• Manage and control engineering hours allocated to the project

• Provide feedback and regular updates to the project planner and monitor the progress of vendor and sub-contractor deliverables and drawings

• Ensure on time delivery of engineering deliverables and prompt resolution to technical queries

Support and interface with other company functions

• Project Management: Report on engineering issues and progress for all assigned items

• Design & Drafting: Coordinate and approve all design & drafting deliverables

• Project Engineering: Technical interface with suppliers to obtain and analyze quotations for all assigned items

• Purchasing: Technical interface with buyers to issue RFQ packages and confirm BOM accuracy for all assigned items

• Manufacturing: Technical interface with shop personnel for all assigned items

• Quality: Identify all testing specifications and signoff on all testing activities

• Service: Support activities for all installation, commissioning and startup needs

Educational requirements:

BS Engineering or Engineering Technology degree.
Professional Engineer (PE) License or licensure eligible preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of gas compression and oil & gas processing equipment.
Self-starter with the ability to successfully perform with limited supervision.
Versatile team building skills and ability to coordinate multifunctional teams.

Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft office suite of programs.
Strong design experience as well as a thorough knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory safety standards.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work closely in a team environment with all internal and external stakeholders.

Capable and comfortable communicating with customers, contractors, and management teams.
Understand the relationship and able to manage the technical interfaces between multi-discipline deliverable packages – including procurement and construction activities.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

EPC Project experience along with exposure to fabrication facilities and field construction required.
Entrepreneurial attitude, aptitude for innovation and long-term career interests.

Experience requirements:

3+ years of engineering, design, and construction experience.
