Job Title – Project Engineer – Energy Transition Jobs in Houston – Texas, USA

Responsibilities:

Interface with the inhouse regional Engineered Systems teams, the Balance of Plant Engineering sub- contractor and our Customers:
After engineering study award, liaison with the Project Development or Process Lead Engineer to hand over all data used for conceptual design and estimating and understand the background and particulars associated with the project.
Identify the customer’s requirements (technical/products problems, execution issues) and bring effective solutions.

Coordinate technical issues with the process and E&IC engineers and customer (technical clarification, answer technical comments, deviation requests) and reach consensus.
Attend certain internal and external meetings (kick off, coordination, HAZOP etc.)Participate in internal/external design activities and technical decisions to support the engineering studies

Develop the project P&ID’s and requisition Balance of Plant equipment as assigned and coordinate all other deliverables.
Participate in all aspects of design review with the applications / engineering team.
Ensure proper understanding of the Customer’s technical needs inside Enerflex and engineering team.

Generate preliminary engineering Bill of Material for the assigned project items.
Perform overall plant estimating activities including: packaged equipment; engineering and construction management; BoP Engineering; BoP pipe modules/racks, vessels, utilities and equipment, electrical and controls, valves and instrumentation; civil works, mechanical, structural and electrical contractor; commissioning and startup, as well as assist in proposal engineering hours estimates for engineering studies.
Own the planning of all engineering activities
Prepare, manage and schedule engineering deliverables as required to complete the engineering studies and for submission to the customer.
Follow up on technical issues throughout engineering study, as needed.

Manage and control engineering hours allocated to the job.
Monitor the progress of technology vendor and sub-contractor deliverables and drawings.Support and interface with other company functions

Project Management: Report on engineering issues and progress for all assigned items.
Design & Drafting: Coordinate and approve all design and drafting deliverables.
Project Engineering: Technical interface with BoP suppliers to obtain quotations for all assigned items.

Purchasing: Technical interface with buyers to confirm preferred vendors and long term supply agreements.
Logistics: Technical interface with regional logistics teams as necessary to support overall engineering studies.

Educational requirements:

Completion of an Engineering (process, chemical or mechanical) or Engineering Technology degree is required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Basic knowledge of the fundamentals required by the equipment used in our products:
- Mechanical Design
- Thermodynamics
- Chemistry
- Instrumentation & Controls

Ability to work on complex problems using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Customer focused and a strong team player.

Experience in process simulation software (i.e. Promax or HYSYS) and various vendor sizing tools.
Proficient with MS Office especially MS word, excel, MS projects and other computer applications.
Experience with Primavera scheduling software would be considered an asset.

Fluency in English.
Professional attitude.
Travel to sites may be required.

Experience requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ industry related experience in project engineering.
