Job Title – Senior Power /Electrical Engineer Jobs in Oman

Responsibilities:

HSE leadership, role model commitment to Life Saving Rules and Process Safety.
Overall technical assurance for electrical equipment engineering which includes assurance that the engineering deliverables are done correctly and technical sign-off of changes. This also includes ensuring that the final detailed design is done per the final project specifications.

Assure the appropriate technical oversight of the contractors during detail engineering, construction, commissioning and O&M.
Execution of the technical assurance plan including technical oversight of the engineering firms and the management of change process. This also includes validation of the contractor’s technical assurance processes and engineering deliverables.
Work together with the lead QA/QC engineer the quality assurance and control of contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers in the electrical equipment engineering disciplines.

Coordination and resolution of engineering issues within the project.
Support Operations team to ensure safe and reliable power plant and OHL operations.
Engineering assurance during the construction & commissioning phases – assurance that “equipment” was built / functions per design, validation of handover documentation, engineering assurance per the requirements in the statement of fitness and asset handover to operate phase.

Educational requirements:

Bachelor degree of Electrical with expertise in design, specification, calculations, equipment sizing, Construction, Commissioning and O&M of Power Generation and OHL distribution.
Hands on experience in commissioning and operations of power plant and OHL.

Knowledge and experience of working with high voltage systems and relevant safety considerations.
Detail knowledge of all electrical engineering deliverables related to power generation and LV/HV distribution. • Acquaintance with preparation, review and analyzing of power system study reports such as Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonics etc. using power system modelling software (ETAP).
Demonstrated good inter-personal skills to work cross-functionally and contribute to develop projects as a participant.

Knowledge of relevant International Standards and codes like IEC, NEMA, NFPA, BS, DEP, etc.
Minimum technical Authority TA-2 in Power engineering /Electrical Engineering.

Experience requirements:

Minimum 10 years of experience in power generation and OHL distribution in oil and gas industries.
Experienced in Electrical power generation and distribution Construction, Commissioning and O&M.
Experience in preparation and performing Electrical Commissioning, isolation/deisolation, test procedures and Electrical Safety rules (ESR) .
