Job Title – Controls Designer Jobs in Houston Texas, USA

Responsibilities:

Prepare Control Panel and Junction Box Layout including Bill of Material.
Develop ladder wiring diagrams from working P&ID (Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams), specifications and/or vendor drawings.
Support Control Engineer in Statement of Work development and customer specification review.

Prepare bill of material for data input into MRP system.
Develop new ladder wiring diagrams templates based on vendor drawings.
Contribute in our constant improvement using AutoCAD electrical features and Enerflex engineering tools to stream line our offering and customize our designs.

All designs must be in accordance with company and industry standards.
Model and champion Enerflex core values in ways that center team culture on these values.
Abide by and promote the Enerflex HSE policy.

Educational requirements:

Education and Certification – Required:
Proficient using AutoCAD Electrical 2017 or later edition

Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or related field.
Design under NEC 500 and NFPA 496 code for Hazardous Area location experience.
Education and Certification – Desired: Familiar with PLC design.

Familiar with NEMA and IP ratings for enclosures.
Experience in cable and/or conduit lay out design is a plus.
Good organization and planning skills.

Self –motivated, ability to work under general supervision.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
Overtime as required.

Experience requirements:

Diploma in instrumentation technology from a recognized institution or equivalent work experience.
IEC Design Certification
Two years of experience in design of electrical Control Panel for Automation Systems required.

MRP system work experience.
