About Enerflex

Job Title – Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EIC) Engineer Jobs in Houston – Texas, USA

Responsibilities:

Create Load lists, electrical equipment sizing, and LV & MV single line diagrams for various engineering studies
Prepare electrical scope documents for the purpose of obtaining proposals/bids from contractors
Review current and best practices from existing methods and process for collecting, storing and transmitting data

Identify data from the control systems and define attributes of the data to be collected, as well methods and apparatus for detecting, collecting, mapping, storing and transmitting data
Identify and develop systems to gather, authenticate and verify data
Support the development of the digital architecture to separate the physical molecule from the digital molecule.

Contribute to the development of Enerflex proprietary automation tools and software for automation solutions as part of the ETX product offering
Identify and evaluate new and emerging data and automation technologies and their application with current opportunities (i.e., risk vs. reward)
Hardware and vendor selection including costing

Support the proposal process from opportunity to handoff to regional applications teams
Participate in conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED engineering studies
Develop and review P&ID’s and major equipment datasheets

Provide customer support to sales via design conceptualization meetings, pre-bid technical meetings, etc.
Knowledge and understanding of the codes and standards in the global markets we are active in
Liaison / coordination with both internal resources (all regions and various BU’s and departments) as well as external (i.e. clients, vendors, etc.) to develop relationships and encourage a “team” culture

Work closely with the Energy Transition Applications Engineer in developing solutions for customer’s opportunities
This position may require travel to Enerflex’s other locations.

Educational requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, with advance knowledge in electrical, instrumentation and/or computer science engineering obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education
Knowledge of the equipment used in our core industry
Ability to lead concept project development, including process conceptualization, interregional collaboration, client and vendor interaction, and presentation of concepts internally and externally.

Demonstrated interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with a desire and ability to learn
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Proficient with MS Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong ability to achieve excellent performance both in an individual and team environment including effectively working remotely with limited supervision as required

Experience requirements:

Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in the oil and gas / carbon capture, utilization and storage / petrochemical industry, preferably with design and manufacture of industrial equipment / units (including but not limited to; amine sweetening, compression, dehydration, refrigeration, power generation etc.)
Experience in building data products and emissions accounting and/or reporting is a plus
Experience and knowledge in gas processing or petrochemical applications is an asset

Experience with Hydrogen production processes (i.e. SMR and ATR) is an asset
Experience in carbon capture technologies, surface facility requirements and design, integration with source facilities, utility requirements, process modeling
