SCADA/SCMS Engineer – Job Vacancies

Job Description / Requirements:

Job Purpose:-

SCADA (SCMS) Engineer will be acting as the responsible design & commissioning engineer for the design activities / installation and commissioning of substation automation systems. Managing completion of all design and commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements

Principle Accountabilities:-

• Shall be responsible for Design and Site execution of Substation SCADA/SCMS system.
• Knowledge of SCADA/SCMS system from reputed vendors viz., Siemens/Hitachi ABB/SEL/Schneider etc., is must, including Cybersecurity & Telecommunication knowledge.
• Shall have adequate experience in integration of multi-vendor numerical IED’s with SCMS system using different protocols / IEC standards upto date.
• Shall have adequate experience in Cyber Security concepts implemented in Substation Automation products.
• Shall be responsible for interface coordination with Substation Plant inputs with SCADA/Substation Control & Monitoring System and Telecommunication System.
• Techno-commercial evaluation of bids from Sub-contractors.
• Timely completion of design & detailed engineering. Follow up with Subcontractors / Suppliers for their timely delivery of drawings and documentations and expedite approvals.
• Ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environment and Quality requirements as per the HSEMS and QMS.
  Responsible for conducting design reviews for various design activities, Attend meeting with Consultant/End Users and Responsible for assigning design works to subordinates.
• Responsible for review and approval of design calculations / drawings.
• Representing the project meetings and design review meetings. Contributing to creation of the design, execution and commissioning philosophy and Managing the implementation.
• Supporting continuous improvement of project process and product and system design via provision of lessons learned feedback. Supporting Project Managers in issuing claims new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.
• Creating work plans for work in own area of responsibility and proactively manages this work to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at targeted cost. Conducting risk and opportunity assessments in real time during the commissioning phase to ensure safe implementation of the commissioning philosophy and identification of potential variation requests to support contract claims. Reporting early any contract or quality or program or cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
• Managing external organizations providing Commissioning with equipment, systems or services issuing permits to work, providing guidance on health and safety requirements and work practices, accepts as complete work done.
• Creating standard processes and tools. Using agreed processes and procedures to ensure that all commissioning activities comply with the required safety regulations and satisfy contractual requirements.
• Preparing project documentation for SAT. Obtaining approvals from utilities for commissioning activities of SAS Systems. Knowledge & experience of third-party product and systems.
• Following safety rules on construction sites according to regulations.
• Proactively coordination and reporting to principal Design & Project Manager for the activities

Skills and Knowledge:-

Graduate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (or) Electronics & Communication Engineering
(B.E / B.Tech)
Have experience of min. 8 – 12 Years. Gulf experience with Authority approvals preferable.
Competent in Designs of Control & Protection Drawings, Calculations etc., It is preferable worked with various utilities like DEWA, FEWA, ADWEA, TRANSO etc.
