Job – Plant Engineer

Job Description:

• Responsible for optimizing utilization of all necessary plant and equipment. Implement, develop and seek approval for systems, standards, and procedures to facilitate and ensure high utilization of plant services.
• Working alongside the Project Managers, Responsible for all plant and equipment for all projects across UAE. Fully responsible for asset management, all delivery, logistics, maintenance, repair, on / off hire, specifications and plant recommendations.
• Manage and coordinate with project managers the mobilization and demobilization of plant items, power supply, water, transport, manpower for the site w/shop.
• Coordinate with related dept. for full insurance coverage of all plant dept. equipment, vehicles and cars to ensure protection of plant asset
• Manage the tower crane distribution, operation, maintenance, and prepare method statement for the same, Ensure that plant items operating in the sites are tested and certified by third party
• Procurement: – Securing and administrating suppliers, Optimizing supply chain, Auditing of procurement processes on a regular basis, taking care of Insurances and Warranties, formulating and distributing daily / weekly and monthly status reports.
• Stores and Warehousing:- Optimizing stock level, Operational management and administration of the warehouse, Verification of goods receipts against orders /packing lists invoices and delivery notes, Receipts and Quality control
• Management on Material deliveries of the project, ensuring the acceptable level of stock is maintained. Controlling Site Storekeepers & allocating Man Power to Project site Store preparing Month wise Material Cost Report of each Project & submitting to the Operations Director.
• Oversee expenditures against budget allocations
• Overall maintenance of administrative systems and procedures i.e. posting into financial / logistical accounting system.
• Process and conclude claims / transactions in conjunction with Finance Department
• Coordinate with suppliers about delivery of Materials and control the Central stores, ensuring that the stores are a safe environment ensuring the acceptable level of stock is maintained. Observing Site Storekeepers & allocating Man Power to Project site Store.
• Recommend and implement policies and procedures related to inventory management, Suggest and implement appropriate systems for tracking and recording inventory movements
• Compile and maintain records of quantity, type and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supply stocked in the warehouse.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing records and physical counts, and reconcile any errors in computation or count, or investigate and report on any discrepancies.
• Supervise the Material handling departments/ Stores for the timely collection, transport, stacking/storage and issue of material and consumables.
• Ensure the safe method and precautions during the handling and transportation of materials and also the safe storage of material.
• Responsible for the daily operation of the store location including; managing location staff, Reviewing staffing, employee development and training, equipment utilization, equipment maintenance and safety regulations.
• Ensure the material identification and Inspection with Quality Control department, for the contractor supply material, to ensure the Quality and Specification of the material
• Undertake regular audits to verify all warehouse items and inventory records and ensure accurate and on time reporting on inventory levels for decision making.
• Maintain contact with all the departments and ensure effective information flow to expedite decisions and actions related to inventory records and stocks. Supervise, train and motivate assigned team to ensure that they are familiar with the inventory control methods used.
• Ensure that safety regulations are followed during physical counts and inventory compilation. Participate in annual audits and stock takes by providing necessary information and schedules to facilitate audits.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the storage and distribution operations of the organization. Manage complete warehouse operations, Material planning, budgeting, forecasting and allocation.
• Supervise and enhance the mobilization of materials to various locations with the aim of support construction activities. Also, supervise the assembly of all Cranes, Lift Hoist parts, Engines, Control Valves, Pumps & motors to ensure the maximum level of safety to be carried out in the operations.
• Coordinate teams and achieve manufacturer’s instruction as per as local authority.
• Checking equipment status and proper preventative process and designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modification, fabrication, and installing components to help improve safety and reliability.
• Provide technical advice on development proposals involving modifications or additions to existing systems and ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
• Coordinate action for replacements or obsolete equipment and develop repair strategies for corrective action.
• Monitor the activities and work quality of subordinates in the workshop to ensure that all work within the section is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner and coordinate outsourcing requirements.
• Ensure upkeep of facilities, equipment, tools etc. as per the requirement of the workshop to meet set Company standards and service objectives. Also, monitor usage of materials, spares, and consumables to ensure that consumption is consistent with budgeted assumptions.
• Making sure scrap is segregated and handled properly by selling it to the highest price.
