Job Title -SENIOR MANAGER CUSTOMS CASES Jobs in Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

Operational

Oversees and provides administrative and decision making support to facilitate the
services provided by the section
Manages, controls and monitors the work of Legal Researchers in order to ensure that
target performances are achieved in compliance with the statutory requirements
Writes Legal opinions which require extensive research on complex cases and
recommends the decisions like fines, destruction of Goods, cease of goods and
communicates to Enforcement Section for necessary actions

Formulates the Legal Cases to meet the Common Customs Law and defend Dubai
Customs in Public Prosecution by producing necessary document of evidence
Ensures the compliance level of the documents forwarded by the departments/centers
related to legal cases formulated and advice the departments based on the findings
Represents Dubai Customs as an authorized signatory in the office of the Notary in the
Emirate of Dubai for contracts, agreements and endorsements that include the
acceptance of waiving of other parties to any amounts transferred or not transferred for
the organization’s benefit
Reviews and approves as applicable the recommendations on customs legal cases to
ensure that recommendations meet with International, Regional and Local Customs
laws and standards
Provides appropriate direction with regards to fines and procedures adopted for
various customs cases

Approves drafts of decisions, bulletins and instructions concerning customs cases to
respond to external authorities queries
Approves circulars, recommendations, notices and the like for decisions of customs
duty collection and customs fines to facilitate the services provided by the section
Provides inputs into the creation and maintenance of the database related to critical
and confidential legal cases

Approves relevant documents for Director General’s approval on the decisions
related to confistigation of goods or other materials
Represents DC in external authorities such as Governmental, legal, banks and all
related bodies in cases initiated in DC or against it or for any legal procedure related to
Dubai Customs
Prepares and provide training courses to Customs’ employees about Customs law
and coordinate with concerned departments in placing training plans for training
employees with regards to seizure reports, customs violations, smuggling crimes,
reconciliation procedures and grievances

Ensures all the approved decisions are properly executed in a timely manners and
any deviation refer to Director – Legal Affairs for necessary actions
Prepares monthly reports on the cases formulated and the status of the cases and
also create the statistical database of the completed cases with all the information for
use of similar situation reference in future
Meets the external parties (Shipping agents, brokers, companies, cargo agents) who
are associated with any cases to collect additional/essential information required for
the cases

Liaises with other Government bodies like Dubai Police, Dubai Courts, etc… to
exchange potential legal the information
Perform all other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor on time with
reliability, honesty, and discretion.

Educational requirements:

Graduate in the relevant business area /Postgraduate Diploma / MBA with
relevant specialization and Master’s are preferable

Experience requirements:

A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant business experience with at least 5 years exposure to budgeting, team management, planning, executing plans, business process improvement, people development, and innovation
