Job Title – Intervention Team Member Jobs in United Arab Emirates

Responsibilities:

During emergencies (such as fire, gas escape, injury, rescue etc…):

· Under the direction of his Supervisor he will respond to all emergency situations and either tackle the emergency directly or provide expert guidance to the plants on how to tackle the emergency themselves.

· Support his Supervisor while he is acting as the focal point for any external emergency service that arrives on site such as Civil Defence or ambulance.

· During the emergency provide all available information and support to the emergency services or others as required.

During regular non-emergencies he shall:

· Ensure that the H&S Department emergency vehicles and equipment are serviced and available for immediate use.

· Along with his team perform routine inspections of all firefighting equipment in line with the inspection plan.

· Conduct training including emergency drills with all departments as required by the plan to prepare them for emergencies.

· Annually participate in a large scale drill in conjunction with Civil Defence.

· Assist with the management of all visits made by Civil Defence.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

· Undertake basic H&S inspections across all areas.

· Conduct reviews of all confined space work to ensure it is safe and is in compliance.

· Inspect hot work activities to ensure adequate precautions are being taken and the permit rules are being followed.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

· Must be physically fit – A test may be held to verify this requirement before employment.

· Must have previous experience of working as a firefighter.

· Must be able to work well within a team.

Educational requirements:

Higher Secondary

Radiological Protection
HAZMAT
Advanced firefighting training

Basic/Emergency First-aid
Fire systems (detection and suppression) operation
Fire systems basic inspection and maintenance ·

Fire pump operation
Full UAE driving license (at the time ofemployment)

Advanced rescue techniques
Basic Microsoft Window

Experience requirements:

Steelmaking and/or Oil and gas experience.
NFPA training
Previously employed as an emergency responder/professional firefighter

Confined Space controls/precautions including SCBA
Hot Work controls/precautions
Basic H&S training

Civil Defense Life Safety Code
Rope access and rescue

Desired Skills:

Ability to motivate others.
Team working skills.

Good knowledge of building methods and regulations.

Qualifications:
