Job Title – Safety Specialist Jobs in Doha, Qatar

Responsibilities:

Carry out investigation into incident at the behest of the Group Safety Management and make recommendations to prevent recurrence and follow up with various departments for corrective actions.
Prepare the monthly presentation for the Flight Operations Safety Action Group Meeting and prepare the presentation for the Quarterly Airline Safety Committee Meeting.

Correspond with external agencies such as Civil Aviation Departments, Airport Authorities and other agencies on safety related matters.
Follow up with individual flight crew members to submit occurrence reports based on events identified as part of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance Programme. Manage the occurrence reports by ensuring correct categorization of Occurrence to enable correct analysis of events. Ensure occurrences which fall under the preview of Mandatory Occurrence System are reported to Qatar Civil Aviation Authorities at the earliest but not later than 96 hours.
Produce statistical reports as required by the VPSQ

Support the Line Manager in the presentations for raising awareness of QR Group Safety Management System programme across all departments.
Manage the operation of the Flight Data Programme (AIRFASE) by ensuring:

that the maximum uncorrupted data is downloaded from the Flight Data Recorders

where required bring to the attention of engineering services when data is not received from any aircraft
ensure all new aircraft added to the fleet have the required Flight Profiles and where required coordinate with Airbus/Teledyne to generate the required flight profiles
produce quarterly trends reports for the FOSAG

Bring to the notice of Manager Flight Safety any significant flight safety related event identified through the flight data analysis process.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Educational requirements:

Essential

Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level

Preferred

Flight Engineer, Aviation Engineer, Grounded Flight Crew (medical) Commercial Pilot License holder, Aviation Graduate, Aviation diploma course, Cabin Crew with appropriate knowledge and experience in safety.

Experience requirements:

Essential

Specialist – minimum 5 years of job-related experience required

Preferred

Experience in Airline operations as Flight Crew or experience as an engineer with a safety background including analysis of occurrence data and flight data.

Desired Skills:

Should be computer and database Literate. Prior experience in use of AQD, Airfase, Aerobyte, Q Pulse and other similar safety tools will be useful.

Must have working knowledge of aviation and aircraft systems.Understanding of airline operations and their security requirements
Should be familiar with legislation (ICAO, EASA Regulations or FAR and Ops Manuals) and international safety bodies such as IATA, Flight Safety Foundation.

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels.
Highly motivated.
Learns quickly.
