Role Purpose: Support the Head of Retail Business Control Unit in Monitoring and enhancing the Control and Risk Environment within RBG. Also ensure Compliance and Operational Risks are identified and mitigated across Retail activities, to minimize any operational risk and avoid any financial or other losses.

Key Accountabilities of the role     

1. Evaluate the Effectiveness of Operational Controls
   1. Conducting Control Testing across Retail Banking (Excluding Branches & BBD) as per defined RCSA Cycle.
   2. Assisting RBG Business Unit Heads in conducting the Risk Assessment evaluation as per planned cycles.
   3. Review of all Major Risks and ensure they are identified with appropriate and effective designs of Controls available to mitigate the Risks.
   4. Review Control Testing Checkpoints and Scoring Methodology.
   5. Ensure all Control Testing Sampling evidence are maintained and up to date.
2. Monitoring of Risk Metrics
   1. Monitoring KRIs and ensure scoring as per defined cycles.
   2. Annual Review of KRIs parameters; Thresholds, GRC Levels, Descriptions, Frequency, etc. .
3. Create a Control Environment through conducting Business Reviews:
   1. Conduct Business Reviews to include Regulatory, Operational, and RCSA reviews as per Annual Visit Plan.
   2. Assist in developing Review Sheets for each function visit to include Regulatory, Operational, and RCSA reviews.
   3. Perform sample test to ensure compliance Policies and Procedures, and regulatory Requirements.
   4. Draft Findings and complete visits as per agreed on timeframe.
4. Support the Monitoring of Implementing of GIA and 2^nd LOD Recommendations.
   1. Support RBG units where required, in complying to GIA and 2^nd LOD recommendations
   2. Follow up on issues raised and recommendations made by GIA within assigned departments & monitor CAP target dates.
   3. Assist in updating actions taken for closure & report on regular progress.
5. Support RBG Business Units in Regulatory GAP Assessments.
   1. Follow up and Ensure that Business Units conduct the GAP Assessments.
   2. Review Actions for Non-Compliant and Partially Compliant Obligatory Rules, and ensure wording, criticality, and due dates are clear and achievable.
6. Review of Policy and Procedure.
   1. Review of Policy and Procedures across RBG (except Branches and BBD) to ensure that Controls set in the process are effective.
   2. Provide recommendation on Process enhancement in terms of controls.
7. Coordinate BCM for RBG
   1. Oversight and ensure an up-to-date BIA and BCP across Retail Control and Governance Department.
   2. Follow up to ensure off site testing done as per schedules
   3. Coordinate with BCM Department to obtain RBG completion rate for Management Reporting.
   4. Report on highlights and issues
8. Special Assignments
   1. Undertake any additional assignments / projects entrusted by the line management and complete them as per requirement.
   2. Assist the Head of Retail Business Control Unit in preparing for any Meetings and Committees.
   3. Undertake training programs to improve knowledge to enhance role performance.
9. Providing administrative support for the department.
