Job Title – Director Juvenile Department Jobs in Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

  • Job Description
  • Participate in the preparation of policies, strategies, standards and conditions necessary to provide services related to juveniles in cooperation with the relevant internal departments (such as the Department of Studies and Research and the Standards and Systems Section in the Licensing Department) and in partnership with external entities (such as the Ministry of Community Development) and work to achieve the approved indicators at the local level.
  • Supervising the preparation of rehabilitation, correctional, and training programs for juveniles deposited on the basis of strategic plans, approved standards, and a study of needs, requirements, and best practices, with the aim of successfully rehabilitating and empowering the target group, and ensuring non-return.
  • Developing mechanisms for preparing and implementing rehabilitation and social training programs in accordance with approved standards, and working on follow-up updating and continuous improvement to ensure the success of rehabilitation plans.
  • Follow-up the results of the care and rehabilitation programs for juveniles and work to measure the results and the extent of benefit by following the development in cases and rates of recidivism.
  • General supervision of the category of juvenile delinquents and those at risk of delinquency, and follow-up with social workers by following up on compliance with rehabilitation programs for delinquents, meeting evaluation criteria, and following up on intervention plans for juveniles at risk of delinquency.
  • Developing frameworks for developing programs and plans to reduce child delinquency (juvenile delinquents) to ensure the provision of integrated care for them and ensure a reduction in the rate of recidivism, in line with the strategic indicator of the Government of Dubai, and supervising its implementation.
  • Submitting an annual analytical study on juvenile crimes and their relationship to several variables (age, sex, place of residence, education, nationality, … etc.) with the aim of developing plans that contribute to reducing juvenile delinquency based on the data available through cases, and through department programs and cooperation with partners.
  • High-level coordination with strategic partners providing services and rehabilitation programs and continuous research to develop innovative ways to raise the level of programs and ensure benefit and keep pace with progress in the electronic field in order to develop services and ensure maximum benefit from them.
  • Reviewing and approving periodic reports submitted to partners (Dubai Courts, Public Prosecution, Ministry of Education, Knowledge Authority) by department heads and concerned specialists.
  • Follow up the cases of juvenile delinquents in the juvenile center and the extent of the cases’ development with the specialized work team, by following up the reports issued by the integrated case management system and holding periodic meetings.
  • General supervision of the preparation of interim plans for juveniles after completing their sentences and rehabilitating them for integration into society by providing them with skills and empowering them to ensure non-recurrence. 

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent.Priority for a master’s degree in social work or psychology.Proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)

Experience requirements:

  • A minimum of At least 14 years of experience in the field of juvenile rehabilitation, including 5 years of experience in a supervisory position
