Job – Senior Simulation Specialist – Polymers

Job Description:

Minimum Qualification:

MSc or Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering (Preferably Masters) from accredited university.

Minimum Experience:

Min. 5-7 yrs of simulation experience in a Polymer Process environment.

Job Specific Skills: 

Business-level written and spoken English.

Computer literacy and a good working knowledge of advanced professional programs e.g. Aspen Plus, Hysys computer mathematical modelling

Background in Polymerization, Polymer Technology, or polymer engineering

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Role responsibilities: 

• Undertake and complete, under general supervision, assignments of limited scope and complexity involving a range of standard problem-solving techniques and computational methods.
• Acquire data, largely from well-established sources, and carry out straightforward analyses as an input to problem resolution and trend analysis.
• Generate technical reports in a timely fashion as per agreed timescales based on the type and complexity of the work undertaken.
• Ensure strict compliance with all approved EHSM procedures and practices to afford protection to life, property, and the environment.
• Participate in, and benefit from, formal and informal on-the-job training, self-development, and work/job rotation, to develop skills and capabilities.
• Participate in regular team meetings to keep informed on developments of significance and to contribute views on ways forward.
• (When applicable) Work in conjunction with contract service providers to assist in the delivery of required outputs and acquire expertise.
• Identify and address frequently recurring problems within own levels of expertise and experience, reaching appropriate solutions, for senior review prior to implementation, through standard procedures and professional knowledge.
• Follows KSA and GCC relevant laws and policies, governing recruitment & Training, and monitors compliance to company procedures.
• Manages the learning and development budget within GCC.
• Have a detailed, hands-on experience in simulations, process design– preferably in polymer, Petrochemicals industries.
