Business Development Executive – Job Description

  • As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, following up, and visiting new and existing customers, reviewing/updating pricing on existing parts.
  • Identifying business opportunities, building and maintaining successful relationships with prospects and existing clients, collaborating with executives on business strategy to determine objectives, evaluating current business performance, and maximizing business reach.
  • Review each quote to assure that all detail has been included and that profit is acceptable.
  • Follow up with potential customers to turn a quote into order within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Provide support and assistance to the estimators and support staff as needed.
  • Manage the estimators for steel/metal fabrication and estimate orders when needed.
  • You will contact potential customers for issues or general sales visits.
  • Revise pricing on existing parts and submit them to customers.
  • Get involved with quality issues either internally or at the customer’s facility.
  • You will Interface with customers in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Track daily/monthly sales quotas and awards and report to management.
  • Travel to prospective clients and markets as needed.
  • Establish profitable relationships with decision-makers at companies and organizations.
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates.

Business Development Executive – Job Requirement

  • To be successful you would ideally possess 4+ years of sales experience in the steel, metal fabricating industry or construction industry.
  • Bachelors degree in any relevant field.
  • Good to have knowledge of CAD programs.
  • Excellent sales record.
