About Enerflex

Job Title – Project Designer – Energy Transition Jobs in Calgary, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Create mechanical designs for skid mounted process technologies, compression, power generation, equipment/piping, subassemblies, assemblies, or systems configurations using AutoCAD, CADWorx 3-D piping or manual systems; compiling bills of materials and has a working knowledge of structural detailing, piping isometrics and ASME vessels.
  • Generates high level conceptual overview drawings of integrated plant designs incorporating multiple type of equipment packages (gas processing packages, compression, pumps, refrigeration, power generation and related components) with minimal supervision from project engineer.
  • Supports the department by studying engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in order to design, detail, document and verify mechanical/electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies, or systems configurations.
  • Prepares material takes offs for piping, structural and or electrical for estimating engineering studies.
  • Ensures quality of drawings and functionality of equipment; performs various calculations such as weights of individual and combined equipment and skid components, frequently using charts and tables; analyzes the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems; recommending possible solutions or alternate construction; modifies drawings as requested; confers with engineers to resolve issues; adheres to company policies and procedures.; creates 3-Dimensional models; prepares bills of materials and specifications; creates documentation required and ensures adherence to designated quality, is conscientious and has a general knowledge of cost and package layout efficiency.
  • Develop standard CCUS compressor station designs.
  • Works directly with applications engineers, other internal departments such as integrated turnkey, gas processing, compression to coordinate with project designs.
  • Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Educational requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting technology, Engineering Design with 3 – 5 years designing and documenting mechanical/electrical equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with Refrigeration and Screw Compression Skid Packages.
  • Knowledge of valves, fittings, tubing, and equipment used in product design and the required ratings and specifications at all design conditions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  • Requires use of computers, drafting tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives.
  • Proficient using 3-D CAD design with the ability to visualize in three dimensions.
  • Proficient with Navisworks is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and other computer applications. (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision, close attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with changing priorities and timelines.
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required.

 

Experience requirements:

  • Experience designing Oil & Gas facilities or petrochemical facilities including designing skid mounted Oil and Gas production equipment.
